In the rear of the van, left panel there is a hissing. There is also a smell like compressed air. I can see some tubing through a vent in the panel.

Maybe related our AC does not seem to be as cold as before.

You may have a broken/cracked pipe which is why you are hearing the hissing sound or it is after you shut the system down and still going into evaporator. it will effect your whole system if leaking out and A/C will no longer cool. It should be leak checked to be verified which you will need a mechanic to do this. See picture.
