Hi,

We need to start with checking what the pressure is of the system with the engine off and then with the engine running and AC on.

Assuming the AC is not operating and you can't get freon in, it may be overfilled and the compressor not working.

If you don't have a gauge set, most parts stores will rent them to you. Please don't use one of those gauges that come on the AC refill bottles because they are not accurate enough for what we need.

Let me know if you have questions. Thanks

There is nothing in the system. Clutch is not turning, so I jumped it to see if it would take Freon. Did not take with the clutch engaged.I got good air coming out of the vents If I have a leak how do I get Freon in so I can check for leaks?

Just so I understand, you know the system is empty? If so, and it won't pull Freon in, then the compressor is not operating. The clutch may be engaging but that doesn't mean that the compressor is operating.

Again, this what we need the pressures for. This will tell us if we have a faulty compressor when you have it running and engaged. Unless the system has been vented completely, you probably have enough Freon in it to get pressures even if they are low.

No pressure in system after I tried to get a little Freon in system. I used a leak detector and found a leak in line going to fire wall.

Thanks for the update. Just make sure you check the evaporator to make sure there are no leaks there either.
