I was told possible fault with clock spring. Horn and cruise control works. Stereo controls do not due to after market stereo fitted. Could the after market stereo not being connected to the steering wheel controls make the air bag light flash?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com

Actually, the flashing light may be indicating a code. Count the flashes to see if after so many flashes there is a delay before it starts over.

If there is no delay, you really should have the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. Here is a quick video that shows how a scanner is used:

Unfortunately, to scan for airbag codes will require a higher end scanner.

With that being said, yes it could be the clock spring, air bag sensor unit, air bag module. If you have the computer scanned and know the code that is stored, let me know and I will help you with the repairs.

Take care,
Joe
