We got the radio in and it turns on connects to phones for Bluetooth and everything but, has no sound coming out.

Did you get the radio that works with the amplifier? If not, this can be your problem, the amplifier is not turning on. Did you get the wiring adapter or wire it yourself? Here are the wiring diagrams so you can check your work. Check out the images (below). Please let us know how it goes.
