I bought this used car two years ago and recently noticed a strange warning sound with unusual behavior.
A few months ago, while driving at around 120 km/h, I heard a warning sound that stopped when I reduced the speed below 120 km/h. I initially assumed it was a speed-limit warning that had been set previously.
However, last week, the same warning sound occurred at around 100 km/h. Since the speed was different from the previous occurrence, I suspected that it might not be a speed-limit warning and decided to investigate further.
I noticed that the warning does not occur immediately after starting the car. Instead, it appears only after driving for approximately 30–40 minutes on the highway. The sequence is usually as follows:
* The warning sound first appears when the speed reaches around 100 km/h. It stops when the speed is reduced and I brought it down to around 60 or 40 km/h.
* After driving for a few more minutes, the warning appears again at around 90 km/h and stops when the speed is reduced.
* After another few minutes, it appears again at around 80 km/h and similarly stops when the speed is reduced.
* If I maintain the speed without slowing down, the warning sound continues continuously until the speed is reduced.
Interestingly, after the car has cooled down, the warning does not occur. For example, when I drive the next day, I can drive for several hours in the city even at speeds approximately 100 km/h without hearing the warning.
The issue seems to occur only after the car has been driven for around 30–40 minutes on the highway. Once the car reaches approximately 100–120 km/h, the above sequence starts again.
I am also sharing two audio files containing the warning sound:
* First audio file (7 seconds): The warning starts at approximately the 3-second mark and lasts for about one second. This occurred when I briefly reached 100 km/h and immediately reduced my speed.
* Second audio file (17 seconds): The warning starts at approximately the 3-second mark. This occurred when I reached 90 km/h. This time, I reduced the speed gradually so that the warning could be heard clearly. The sound continues until approximately the 16-second mark, when it stops after the speed is reduced to around 80 km/h.
I would appreciate your advice on what could be causing this behavior and what I should check.
