Add transmission fluid

Hello. I am told my vehicle has a plug in the transmission where fluid must be added with a pump, but my mechanic is saying if it has got a dipstick it can still be filled through the dipstick. Is this correct?

Good morning,

It is recommended to fill it through the dipstick on this transmission.

The plug is there for transmissions without a dipstick for checking the level.
