2002 Acura TL spindle nut on rotor

replacing my brakes and rotors and I cannot get the spindle nut off of the front of the rotor to slip it off. Any tips to remove the nut?? Also why is the one edge bent down in the groove of the axle

try heating it up with a torch.
you have to have wheel on and vehicle on ground when you attempt to loosen it. edge of what is bent? can you get a picture.
