My A/C blows really cold air when driving. However, when I'm idling for more than 15 seconds, it starts blowing warm air. I feel the compressor clicking on & off because it will jolt the car forward. But the minute I start going, cold air comes out and if I'm sitting for a few minutes, it will bring a weird smell through the vents (like a mildew or old type smell). Any help? Thanks.

One, make sure that the fan is on when the a/c is on /always. Two it sounds like you may have a leak, since the compressor is cylcling so often/but it could also be the high pressure switch, gone bad. And then the mildew could be the build up of leaves and debris on your evaporator core, that would need to be cleaned out. Its several things that could be going on. There are several places that will do a free,
A/C check up and tell you exactly whats wrong. Those are all possibilities that I ran down to you.

Hi asully1979,

Something legitimate007 missed out, if the idling speed is too low, the AC would also keep cutting in and out.
