1999 Acura TL starter/battery

Just a click when trying to start. Wouldn't jump. Replaced battery. Same thing. Started to disconnect starter. Decided to wait. When putting battery cables back on battery, I gat an arc?

the solenoid making a clicking sound, it is operating properly and the problem may be with the starter. disconnect the neg. battery cable before you can start to disconnect starter. Label and disconnect the wires from the starter to put them back in the same way. Put neg cable back at last.
