I am having this 99 acura TL for the past 6 years. Today my car all of a sudden not starting. It was cranking but not starting. Towed it to mechanic. He is telling battery and alternator need to be replaced.

I have never seen any issue with alternator before. Battery was replaced less than a year ago from the dealer. Mechanic telling alternator killed battery and it won't cover the warranty. This raised me red flag.

In the mechanic shop it started with hand held battery.
Can you please suggest what should I do? I am taking the car from mechanic(City Garage) without fixing it.

Thanks
Manuel

To find out you need to get the battery and alternator load tested.
