1997 Acura TL lights

i have an acura tl 3.2 1997 and i have a problem with my lights. I thought that is was my light bulbs but when I put in new light bulbs they didn't work. As a matter of fact the old ones still worked because they are the same as the brake lights and the brake lights work because they still come on when i hit the brakes. The headlights do come on so i don'y have any idea what is wrong with the taillights. I was told that it might be something electrical or a fuse could have blown and that i might need a new one. But i have no idea where the fuse box is in my car. I would be nice to know what is really wrong!
