2002 Acura RSX 5W20?

Is it safe to go with Honda's recommended 5W20 at 87000 miles or should I switch for something thicker? I've noticed some knoking noise when engine is cold. Could it be just that the valves need to be readjusted?

Recommended is the 5w20 also every and so often an oil treatment is suggested with the oil change too
possible to take an advantage of that know by adding the recommended additive
check with your local dealer or a part store for availability
you can use it with no harm done
