2004 Acura RL Timing Chain/belt and Water pump replacement

Do I really have to change the timing belt and replace the water pump at 105,000 miles as recommended in the owner's manual? If so, can it be delayed? Your thoghts..

The engine is an interference type that means if T belt brakes it bends valves and will cost BIG $$$$ to repair.
