1998 Acura RL check engine light

I have a 1998 Acura 3.5RL with 150.000 miles on it. My check engine light just came on for the first time, and I'm wondering if it is possible to decode problem from the dash (flashing light) instead of taking it to the dealer. Please advise.

Hi sugapoppope, You can get it done free at your local Autozone outlet. If you can locate the SCS, bridge it and count the number of blinks.
