I brought my car into the dealer for a routine oil change and they recommended that I service the catalytic converter. There are no present problems with it, but their rational was - many converters on the MDX's fail between 60,000 and 80,000. My warranty ended at 80,000. When and if it does go, it will cost $2000-3000 to replace.
They said they have had a lot of success, when servicing it, which takes about 4 hours and will cost $450 - it is a proactive/ hopefully preventative measure that will likely lengthton the life of the converter.
Does this sound like a good reccomendation?
