2004 Acura MDX Rear Hatch wont lock or unlock

2004 Acura MDX 6 cyl

The rear hatch on my 04 MDX wont lock or unlock with either the keyless remote or the lock button on the driver side door? I thought it was the actuator so I replaced it, that didn't work. Any ideas? Could it be the door sensor - does that supply power?

Hi zfay,

Most likely cause is an open circuit between the actuator and control unit.

Check the wires that connect the rear hatch to the body. On an 01 it is on the top left. Pull the rubber cover back as far as you can and see if there is any breached wires. It will look as if they were cut. Hope that helps!
