2001 Acura MDX Four Wheel Drive Automatic

When it comes time to do routine maintenance engine stops running when stopped or slowing to take a turn - loses all power very scary when turning onto a major highway my mechanic can find no problems but this has been consistant now for a couple of years why does the engine just shut off it will start up again when put in park and turn key

loose battery terminal or more likely bad engine ground. check the the cables and ground wires or start wiggling it with the engine running.
