repair person says codes that come up after diagnosis are po401 and p1456. Said that means EGR valve needs to be replaced and the bypass silinode and two way valve need to be replaced. Is that accurate and what should be the approximate cost?

Hi dessiraywcusic,

P0401 is insufficient EGR flow and is normally resolved with replacement of the EGR valve and cleaning the passages.

For P1491, is is a fault with the wiring circuit and could possibily be a faulty PCM so the cost would be much higher.

For replacing the EGR valve, it takes only 0.3 hours but for cleaning the passages, it would incur an addition 1 hr at least.

EGR is listed at $ 136.03
Gasket = $ 6.15
