1993 Acura Legend 6 cyl Manual

I have tightened all the screws on the oil pan gasket. It still leaks oil onto the ground as soon as the engine starts. It sat all night after I put 5 quarts of oil into the engine, no leaking. I start the engine this morning and all of a sudden the ground gets soaked with oil.

make sure the gasket isnt being overtorqued and that the surfaces are clean...

is it comign form the gasket?

wouldnt be surprised if its warped or if theres a hole in the oil pan.

Hi ian_taylor91,

The oil pan uses liquid gasket sealants and the possibility of leaking is not high unless you have tampered with it.

The leakage could be coming from the oil seals, oil pressure switch and filter and from these it would only leak when the engine is started.
