I have a wonderful 1993 Acura Legend L with 160,000 miles, 6 cylinder. Recently it started running hot and was diagnosed with a blown head gasket. As long as I keep coolant in it, it runs fine and doesn't get hot. I love this car and it runs great - just got new tires also. Should I try fixing it? Is it ok to drive?

Thanks. Marian

The decision to fix is really your decision. You really sound as though you are already leaning to get it repaired and keep. You can drive it if you keep the fluids up but the gasket could really bail on you and cause further damage. Do yourself a favor and start talking to others about mechanics in the area. Make phone calls to get bids or stop and talk to mechanics and get bids. Find a good price and someone you can trust to do the work you ask and NO more.
