d4 shift lcd on dash has been out for long time, now lights and flashes. Auto seems to shift properly. Transmission fluid level within range suggested by manufacturer on dip stick. Fluid color is light brown, clear, with normal smell. The only other difference in this area is on the shifting console. The position marks do not line up. What do you suggest? Very sorry I can not at this time donate, I live on small monthly income. Thank you. Robert.

Hi Robert,

When D4 light is blinking, an error has been detected in the transmission control sensors. You need to retrieve the code to know what is happening.

As to the D4 light not working, it could be due to the gear shift position sensor switch out of adjustment and/or wiring circuit malfunction.

You need to check if the shift cable is bad or out of adjustment.
