I just had a 90,000 mile tune-up and had spark plugs and wired, distributor cap, fuel and and air filters replaced etc. I did not do the timing belt and water pump at this time. It's been almost a week and my "check engine" light came on. I've never had any engine problems and my fuel cap is new. The car runs fine except it idles a little rough when first started. This is new since I got the tune up done. Could this be related to the tune-up? I feel like these guys ripped me off charging me $700 for a tune up that didn't include a timing belt or water pump. Should I take it back and demand a free diagnostic? Could they have done this? What could it be?

Hello -

Thanks for the info.......

Before you take it back, let's do a couple of free things... Please go to Auto Zone (AZ) or O'Reilly's (OR) and for FREE they can pull the codes to the car. Most important: Once they check your codes, if they find something and you don't get it fixed and need to get back with us, please make sure you tell us exactly what the code was, number and all. Example, if the code was E0568 O2 Sensor bad. Then make sure you give us all of that. While there for FREE also they can bring their tester out and check your battery and alternator.

Let me know what you find
