When braking when traveling 30-40 miles per hour I feel a vibration, shaking or shimmy in the brake pedal and the steering wheel. It does not occur when braking at higher speeds and it dissapates as the car slows to below 30 miles per hour.

Hi dpgardner,

Symptoms seems to indicate rotor fault. Though it does not happen at high speed, rotor runout can vary and produce different results.

Check if steering linkages, wheel bearings, arms and wheel rims/tires are in good order.
