It could be anything. Tell him to check practical things first, such as fuel cap, oil, tranny fluid. Once hes confirmed that all of those are good, tell him to go to a Kragen, Auto Zone, or Napa store and have one of the guys there run the Computer for codes. Write done the codes and search google with the year, make, model, and codes. But I wouldn't drive it to hard, or too much until you verify the problem.
