how do i turn of the 'maint reqrd' light? I've tried holding down the trip button in power mode. What is this light telling me? I've heard change oil, flush fluids, check emissions.

Your owners manual has this information. It is wise to check there in the future for these answers.

Right above the accelerator pedal near the dash panel there is a little button you have to hold with the key on RUNII. This will clear the light.
