Hey ,, so i am replacing my CVboots on my axles and i cant figure out how to remove the head of the axle to slip on the new CVboot ?? any ideas on how to do this ???

Hi dddavid,

Clamp the shaft on a vice and while pulling at the CV joint outer shaft, use a mallet to tap the CV joint inner portion to get it off the internal spring clip.

Sometimes the clip might be stuck very hard so you need a punch to knock at the inner seat of the CV joint.

Last resort is to remove the inboard joint and get the boot in from that side.
