My car is screeching, it sounds like it is comming from the right front tire area. It has just snowed and there are rocks and sand all over the road, is there anyway that this could cause this loud screech. Furthermore occasionally when i make a left turn to park i feel a thunk. Could these issues be caused by the same problem?

Hi turkeykicker,

The only reason I can think of for the screeching is that something has got caught in between the brake rotors and calipers.

The noise during parking could be related but might be the control arm ball joints.
