I don't know if the knock sensor on a 1995 acura integra dohc vtec motor is out?? I took it to the shop and they checked it out and they say it's the knock sensor? Where is the knock sensor located on the motor?? And does it effect the performance of the car because it seems to lag whenever the light turns on and the cause is the knock sensor??

Hi mengo_her,

The knock sensor is located below the intake manifold, just above the oil filter, bolted onto the engine block, near to the cylinder head gasket.

Yes, a bad knock sensor can cause the performnce issues. Likewise, if the ignition timing is set wrongly, the CEL would indicate intermittently.
