1995 Acura Integra crankcase pulley out of alignment

1995 Acura Integra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

While replacing the belts I noticed the belts didn't line up properly. Upon inspection, it looked as though the crankcase pulley had shifted away from the engine. Am I seeing things? Is this possible and can it be fixed in my garage?

Hi Fone50,

Unless the crank pulley bolt has loosened or the crank pulley is faulty, if not it would not go out of alignment.

Did you check the seating of the beltings? V-ribbed belts tends to seat off 1 groove if not installed correctly and that would cause the belt to look out of adjustment.

Removal of the crank pulley is not easy as it is torqued at 150 ft lbs and you would need a high powered impact wrench or a special tools to get th epulley bolt off.
