umm what does it means when your car idles to 2 grand then goes back to normal ? or when your third gear grinds ?

Check idle air control vavle behind intake manifold; because its old, carbon deposits build up inside it or just replace it. The third gear in all Honda 4 cylinder transmissions is a common thing to have a problem with, usually the synchros go bad but because its old. It would probably be cheaper to replace the transmission.
