1989 Acura Integra transmission surge

My transmission shifts in and out of gear when I get up to around 45 mph. From what I understand it should already be in fourth gear. And also my cruise control stopped working right around the same time.

Hi deanvx1,

If the speedometer has stopped working, then you have a problem with the speed sensor and this would cause erratic shiftingand the cruise control to stop.

Under the passenger seat, the ECM has a LED window for you to check if any trouble codes are present.

Turn ignition ON and note the flashing of the LED to get the trouble code.
