I note that my clock stays on after shutting off engine and removing the key. Everyday when I first attempt to use my car - it won't start even though the dash l lights come on and radio and it beeps that I have the key in the ignition. Where can I look for a wire that might be worn or can I just pull a fuse? What else operates on the fuse with the clock? Not to sound stupid, but I'm a lady with limited knowledge about cars beyond simple oil changes and tune-ups. PLEASE HELP! I am disabled and have a pending disability claim and have no income at this point in time so I have to ask a free question. I have a Haynes Repair Manual but can't find anything about the clock or the fuse.

Just unplug the clock for now so that the battery doesn't drain.
What you are going to have to do, is follow the power wire for the clock and find out where it is shorted.
