Changing tranny fluid is similar to changing engine oil. You simply unscrew the tranny fluid plug and drain the fluid. Refill with proper fluid type and to proper level according to your owner's manual.

Changing the filter, however, is a bigger job. The filter is inside the transmission and usually requires dropping the tranny from the vehicle.

I suggest having a transmission shop do the job for you if you are not experienced in this area as you could cause severe damage to the transmission if done incorrectly.
