1999 Acura CL Fuel filter

I need to change the fuel filter on my 1999 Acura 2.3 CL but can't seem to find it. I've looked everywhere, the bottom of the car is covered by metal sheets, do I need to remove the protected metal sheets to find the fuel filter?

Its behind the engine, by the firewall.
Start from the fuel rail and follow the line going back until you see a round canister-that's the fuel filter
