1999 Acura CL alternator not charging

I have a newer good battery, reads 12 volts, and I just replaced the alternator, but it's giving a dead reading. I've followed the wires and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with them. I was wondering if there is a control module or something that I may need to check.
