Had A/C problem; only getting hot air on driver's side vents. Had blend door actuator replaced. To my surprise, they also evacuated and recharged my Freon. Is this necessary when simply replacing an actuator?
Thanks,
GS

Good evening.

No, it is not necessary to service the A/C system when replacing the actuator motor.

Did they tell you why they performed this operation?

The actuator is a simple plug and play.

Thanks. No, it was at a dealership and the technician was not available and their checkout is such a hassle, I just got the vehicle and left. I am thinking I need to go back and push for a credit.
Thanks,
Greg

Yes, go to the service manager with your concern. They get bonus on customer satisfaction. If you write a complaint, they lose their bonus.
Have then show you in the book that the procedures was required for the repair.
