So the car is not hard to start when you go to start. Sometimes the acceleration is okay and sometimes it's not it kind of gets sluggish and I have been told it's the EGR valve but don't know exactly where it's located in the vehicle I don't know if this is an O2 sensor or what the issue would be but after you've driven the car for a little bit and then you come back and park and go to turn it off it's kind of idling sort of rough not bad and it does die sometimes it's only died twice since it's been going on

What I would do is start with looking at the throttle body to see if you have soot or contamination in the throttle plate.

If you do then we can look at the EGR, but I am not sure the 2.4L uses an EGR but we can figure that out for sure if the throttle is dirty. I am just not finding any info on this for this engine. Only the diesel engine.

However, there are a couple other things that we should check while doing this.

We need to check the MAF and see if it is dirty as well. If this is telling the engine the wrong info, then it will cause these types of issues. Here is a guide that will help with cleaning it and the throttle body:

Below is the info on the MAF as well.

Let's start with this info and go from there.

Thanks
