My truck is hard to accelerate while in 2wd and tries to come to a complete stop on its own, but when I put it in 4hi it's goes just fine.

Hi,

This is an interesting one. The transmission is the same regardless of if it is in 2wd or 4wd. The only difference is the transfer case ties the front wheels into the drive system.

When this happens (comes to a stop in second) does the engine rev as if it is in neutral? Do the other gears work properly?

Let me know.
