A/C vents stuck on defrost

My A/C vents are stuck in the defrost mode, and will not blow air out of face vents.

This is a pretty common complaint. Here is a guide that will run through the most common causes:

Let us know what you find but I suspect the mode door actuator (Toyota calls it the air outlet control servomotor) has failed and so the default position is defrost so that you always have air coming out in order to defrost/defog the windshield if needed.
