Why does the air conditioner blow cold on driver side and hot on passenger side?

When you say "hot", I assume you mean the heat is on rather than just no air conditioner. The blend door actuator on the right side may be bad, but first try removing the HVAC fuse and that will re-calibrate the system. If that does not resolve it, you may have to look into a new actuator.
