Hi,

The system should be vacuumed and then recharged. Vacuuming, also known as evacuation, involves removing any air and moisture present in the A/C system. This is important for a couple of reasons.

First, if air remains in the system, it can cause poor cooling performance and potentially damage the compressor. Vacuuming removes the air, ensuring that only refrigerant is present in the system.

Also, moisture is another enemy of an A/C system. If moisture gets into the system, it can react with the refrigerant and form acids that damage the internal components. Additionally, moisture can freeze inside the system, blocking the refrigerant flow.

Here is a link showing how it is done:

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

joe

I don't need to spray A/C cleaner in the system. Just pull vacuum and charge? What about pay oil?

Hi,

If it was a hose you replaced, the PAG should be fine. As far as charging it, if you vacuum the system, it should be fine. If the compressor failed, then it would need to be cleaned.

Let me know.
