Welcome to 2CarPros.

When you say temp will go from cold to hot, do you mean it seems the heater has turned on or do you mean outside air temp air is entering the vehicle? If under most conditions the AC is working properly, chances are it isn't the AC system but rather something with what is called a blend air door actuator.

The blend air door actuator is responsible for determine the air temp entering the vehicle. So, lets start here. Take a look through this link and let me know if anything mirrors what you are experiencing. In general, the link explains how to replace the actuator I mentioned, but it also discusses common symptoms.

Let me know your thoughts after you review that. Do the symptoms seem similar or do you feel it is something totally different?

Take care,
Joe
