A/C intermittently blows cold air

When you say temp will go from cold to hot, do you mean it seems the heater has turned on or do you mean outside air temp air is entering the vehicle? If under most conditions the AC is working properly, chances are it isn't the AC system but rather something with what is called a blend air door actuator.

The blend air door actuator is responsible for determine the air temp entering the vehicle. So, lets start here.
