How to remove the AC mode door?

AC mode door is stuck on defrost/floor?

The mode actuator is mounted on the HVAC case under the instrument panel. Before attempting to remove the door, remove the lower dash/insulator panels and watch the actuator while changing the HVAC setting from PANEL to FLOOR to DEFROST. If the actuator doesn't move, disconnect it and see whether the mode-door shaft can be moved manually.
