New A/C compressor, the clutch will not totally disengage to a complete stop and makes clutch squeal noise. It blows ice cold, then warm after car warm up, then blows warm. I'd like to know is this an absolute air gap issue, or can this be caused by a going bad evaporator core?

If the compressor is not fully disengaging then this is would be the cause of it. This could be an air gap issue but was this doing it before the new compressor? What was the reason for replacing the compressor?

Once we understand what happened we will be able to better direct what we need to do. Thanks

The clutch not disengaging wouldn't be effected by anything other than the air gap. Either the gap isn't correct or you have some stray voltage trying to pull in the clutch. Easy test, unplug the clutch. Does it still stay engaged? If yes you need to adjust the air gap. If no test the clutch feed for voltage. It's also possible the rotor is bent causing it to rub in one spot.

The question above is important, and I'll add this to it, if the original compressor failed internally, what other parts were flushed or replaced with the new compressor?
