The clutch not disengaging wouldn't be effected by anything other than the air gap. Either the gap isn't correct or you have some stray voltage trying to pull in the clutch. Easy test, unplug the clutch. Does it still stay engaged? If yes you need to adjust the air gap. If no test the clutch feed for voltage. It's also possible the rotor is bent causing it to rub in one spot.
The question above is important, and I'll add this to it, if the original compressor failed internally, what other parts were flushed or replaced with the new compressor?
