Air conditioner fluctuates off and on

Air conditioner on, air coming out cold for a while then starts to lose the cold and smells moldy, then the cold air comes back on and it runs normally. It fluctuates back and forth, off and on. Just the temperature, not the fan.

it may be too much moisture in system if it has been apart or Freon added. for moldy smell check drain hose under car and run a wire through it to unclog it then spray Febreze air freshener into screen in front of windshield with fan on . you may also have a problem with an actuator not staying on so check belt and tensioner for wear as well as clean battery terminal ends.
