Hi,
The removal of the belt really isn't too difficult. There is an automatic belt tensioner that you simply (with a tool) need to move in a counterclockwise direction to loosen and remove the belt.
Take a look at pics 1 and 2. They show the location of the tensioner and how it is turned. The remaining pics are the directions for removal and replacement of the compressor. Now remember, the system may still have freon in it and should be vacuumed down before taking things apart.
