A/C Compressor is always on?

The A/C compressor will start running whenever I turn the A/C on. However, it is not cycling on and off.

I tried removing the low-pressure switch, but the A/C compressor was still engaged.

The strange thing was when the freon leaked this week, the compressor was not engaging at all.

Hi,

If the Freon is low, it can cause it to run at all times. How quickly is it losing Freon? Take a look through this link if it has stopped working.

If the freon was lost, that is what the low pressure is for. It will prevent the compressor from engaging. Also, try switching the compressor relay with a different one in the box having the same part number and see if that makes a difference.

Let me know.

Joe

Thank you for replying to me. However, my concern is how possible if the low pressure switch was removed, and the compressor still running?

Hi,

That is a good question. Something had to be sending a signal. Is there any evidence of wiring damage?
