A/C compressor is locked

My A/C compressor locked and burned my belts. Money is tight and can get a pulley can I bypass the compressor with a smaller belt and how?

It cannot be done without replacing it with an idler pulley. They only make those for some cars so you will have to see if one is sold for your truck. Otherwise you will have to replace the compressor and if you want the A/C to work, you will have to also replace the condenser, dryer and possibly expansion valve. Then you will have to find the cause of the original failure.
