AC causes car to cut out when idle

2015 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER
30,000 MILES • 2.4L • 4 CYL • 4WD • AUTOMATIC

With the air conditioner on I stop the car at lights etc., and the car cuts out as the engine revs surge and shuts off. With AC off this issue does not happen.
