AC causes car to cut out when idle

With the air conditioner on I stop the car at lights etc., and the car cuts out as the engine revs surge and shuts off. With AC off this issue does not happen.

This sounds like a learn issue. Do you have a check engine light on? If so can you run the codes to see what comes up? Here is a guide to help us find the problem:
